I bought my first hunk of polymer clay...it stares at me daily, taunting me to open it up...not sure if I am up for trying to make such tiny things out of a medium I am unfamiliar with, but what the heck...I can always use the mistakes to make crude beads... Grin
Go ahead, Give it a try-
The thing with polymer clay is that until you bake it you can shape and reshape as many times as you want I am always smooshing my designs and redoing them until I am satisfied with the outcome

LOOOVVE your teeny weeny things teag!

I haven't done a thing and likely won't until after the holidays. Then I'll do the goblin/troll pub AND my kiddo wants to get in on the act and make a magic themed sort of Harry Potter inspired place... my house (the big one I live in) is going to be a DISASTER! lol

Ooh sounds like a couple of great themes- I always loved it when the kids get involved - and a Harry potter theme is right up my alley can't wait to see that

I think you are FAR from spamming the thread. The more eye candy the better really. If you only view the photos in this topic there are only 9 pages of photos in 90ish pages of text... you could add a zillion photos and you'd be fine and dandy

Yeah, bring on the pictures!!  We are all craving views of other people's work - it's so inspiring!  On that note, I better get some pics off my camera and get them posted myself :-)

Ok she loves loves loves reading, as well as being a professional book reviewer so I thought it would be appropriate to make her her own miniature reading nook. The box I used as a base was a $1 gift box from Michael's measuring 6 inches square, 4 inches deep. Heres the pictures!

Roofing detail - I finally decided to do shingles cut from balsa wood and painted over brown/black

And the whole shebang with details

Views through the windows (I had to add windows so that the wee scene could get some light)

And details of the miniature items that weren't glued down - sadly there didn't end up being enough room for the glasses and newspaper. I also made some shelving that didn't make the cut as it was getting a bit too crowded. Oh, the books - they were all individually made and removable but I forgot to grab them of course  Roll Eyes And the wee domed mushroom figurine was inspired by our lovely knickertwist of course!  Smiley

Things I learned while making this:

1 - I tried using spackle for the grout filler as suggested from the egg carton brickwork tute but it was just too messy. I ended up using white puffy paint which ended up working like a charm! And wayyyy less messy. I had to go back to fill in any bubbles but it was awesome.

2 - Spackle however did come in very handy for filling in holes in the roofing detail especially on the side facing the front where all the shingles overlapped creating a lot of holes. A bit of spackle and paint and it looked great!

I'd love to hear any thoughts or suggestions for the next tiny thing I make!
