First I want to welcome all the hungries that just entered the gallery!
Good golly, Miss Dolly's wildly interesting hungry monster and its keyring buddy and so many terrific handmade friends that went along for the ride  and a goodly amount of noms!
farmerswife's totally cute canine with ears and bows and I love the hungry monster PURSE! Keep AWAY from my kaching!
abbeyrd83's sooo sweet blue-eyed floral monster (those eyes--like TOOOO cute), pretty in pink puppy (beautifully made), kitty purse, rainbow tote...
Such thoughtful and wonderful craftings, all. What a gallery!

And I -- with the craftings of my amazing partner Smmarrt--am certainly adding to our family! I feel it's like an embarrassment of riches.

The first package I opened had this trio of stuffies inside. I'm so happy that they're so happy to see me!

and, Smmarrt, I would have absolutely been so happy with these all by themselves--they are SO cute and so nice!

The next package I opened was a SWEET monster indeed! The fabric has candy snowcaps on it -- I just think that's hysterical! I love the eyes on this monster and the peppermint gum in its mouth, which I pried away for a moment, says, "To save time lets just assume I'm never wrong". YESS!

But wait, there's more Tongue
Another wonderfully-made monster out of fabulous 50s-look utensil fabric that seems preoccupied with a very large bar of Ghirardelli chocolate...

Hey, you!!!

Oops, didn't mean to startle you..

Smmarrt also sent me two Japanese craft books. Though they are written in, well, Japanese, the illustrations and photos are extremely good and I think I can do some of these--there's a lot of awesome ideas in here. These little guys say they'll help.

All of Smmarrt's plushies, say hi to your new friends!!

And because I just love the sourdough bread at Boudin's, Smmarrt also sent me tutorials on sourdough starters. NomNomNom.
I would have a hard time thanking you enough for all of these wonderments that you made for me. I hope you know that.
Thank you so so much.

There's a super fancy fabric store here in San Francisco, Britex Fabrics, and the stuff on the first floor is so gorgeous and the costume designers for the ballet and opera buy the super fancy fabric from them.

Then up on the 3rd or 4th floor is the remnants section - there's a huge sale once or twice a year where all the remnants are 25% off, my favorite sale - that's where I found the candy fabric. It was too funny/coincidental/appropriate to pass up. And there is also this wool felt section, that used to only be one or two colors at a time. When I was there last, there were about 14 colors so I bought I sheet of each, because, you know, next time, they might not be there! I tried to think of what susanab would like - she was a bit vague on her questionnaire, so I made a mini of each of the monsters so far in these swaps. I still need to try a bag and an apron, but I am also a "crookedy sewer" so I didn't feel confident making one of those as an extra.

As for the Japanese books, they were from Daiso, the $1.50 store we talked about in the discussion thread. I thought there might be a swap idea or two in there.

You're very welcome, Susan. Smmarrty and I will eat some more dark chocolate tonight and recover from the first 3 days of school!
