It's zoo day in the nursery today, (and sealife is a zoo, too, right?), so I cobbled this squid costume together. There's no pattern, I've made it up on the go: I made a tutu by knotting strips of varying lengths of dress netting on an elastic. Then I cut a top out of purple felt, using one of my daughter's t-shirts, adding 10 tentacles, 2 of them longer with paddles on the end. The hat is a simple cone shape with a frill, and a hole for the face cut in.

It's all hand stitched because I was too lazy to dig out the sewing machine and took me less than a couple hours.

The daughter lurvvves it.

That is so freakin' cute! Great job on it and you have to tell us the reactions of it at the nursery.

Thank you. I originally also wanted to add suckers to the tentacles using a contrast colour felt, and eyes, but then decided keeping it simple would look better. Nursery people were impressed, too

I bet! Plus if you put all the extras, the little ones may decide to try and snack on them! I like it simple honestly Smiley
