A big thank you to the craftster moderators for the feature for July and August (for my other post) on the Glass board  Grin Grin Grin

and for this :]

First of a series of what I can feel is going to be a very long craft addition for me. All of them are wire and beach glass some of them required drilling through the glass.

Also, I want to be able to photograph the translucency of the glass with the light showing through, but cant seem to manage to show it,it comes out totally back lit. Any hints? I'm new to photography, just got a DSLR camera, so Im learning...

The first piece I made, freestanding mermaid statue

Some sail boat pendents or ornaments

Little Mermaids 1 and 2

A Big Sail Boat

SAIL sun catcher

A sun catcher "Love is sandy toes and salty kisses"
any one have any idea where thats from? I know I read it somewhere...

thanks for looking :]

Wow those are so lovely - even if the pictures didn't come out the way you wanted them to.  The mermaids in particular are so pretty and delicate

They are all really cute.  Love the mermaids and the sailboats.

As for the photography, you could look online for directions on a photo light box, but personally I'd photograph these either outside or at least in a window with the light behind them.  Good luck.

The pieces are wonderful!

For the light to shine thru maybe try lighting them from underneath, sort of like a light table, or use a diffuser for the flash, something simple like tissue paper of the flash  or bouce the lights off walls so it is not directly on the glass so you dont get silhouettes.

These are amazing!  I am in love with the mermaid especially.

Cool, I like the little boats.  I think outside pictures would be good too.

Personal swaps are cool.
