We went to AVCon this year. My kids have been dying to go and planning this visit for a year. My daughter went as Rukia from Bleach and my son as Young Link from Ocarina of Time.

My swap partner for the last Zelda swap made my son a Young Link costume but he had grown out of it so I had to start from scratch. It was pretty simple and quite fast to make, the earlier version helped with how to do it. My daughter made the sword and shield. The sword is a modded foam sword. I made him a goron bracelet too. He was a hit at the con.

The Rukia costume was totally different. I wanted it to look okay so I researched the hakama and gi to try and make them semi authentic. The gi wasn't too bad, except that I had to make the inner white one and the outer black one. The hakama was much harder but I was pleased with the result.
