Here are two of my most recent reconstructions, and the two I am most proud of!
First up, my Saturn shirt. I had this leftover stretchy fabric from an infinity skirt, was drooling over smarmyarmy's clothes, and decided to give her hoodie tutorial a whirl. I love it! I probably should have fitted the shirt first, but I still love it. The sleeves I just cut off the old ones, used one as a pattern, and ta-da! I also don't have a serger, so I was so happy when my machine did not eat any of the fabric. As for Saturn, that two sided fusible stuff and a stencil I found online were used to make my first machine stitched applique!

And a close up of the applique.

This was once a sad pillowcase. I rescued it and gave it a second life as a skirt. It has an adjustable waistband, 90% French seams, and a whole lot of ruffles. The one serged seam is the original side of the pillowcase, just reinforced. I forgot sew it from the right side first. Tongue
