Hi! This is one of my latest sewing projects, created with the use of McCall's 5879.

I used the bodice pieces of the pattern, but just used a gathered rectangle for the skirt. The tucks at the hem were an afterthought, so the skirt is a bit shorter than I had originally intended, but thankfully still long enough to be decent Smiley

The dress is a pull-over style, so it doesn't have a zipper (I guess I should come clean and admit I have a small zipper-phobia!) and has two ties in the back.

My mom and a coworker said it looked like a baby's dress, but a cute one at least, so I'll take it Smiley

Thank you for taking a look!

Oh my, it's so flippin' cutteee!
I would love that in every color...but especially that blue.
I'm tempted to make it knowing that you didn't use a zipper.
I have {{serious}} zipper-phobia too!

That is adorable.  I think the tucks at the hem are perfect, too!  Totally worth changing the plan for.  Do not fear the zipper!  There are so many easy ways to do it.  Once you do it a couple times, you'll wonder why everything doesn't have a zipper in it! Practice with a zipper from something that doesn't fit, or get some at a thrift store.

I love that color and agree it is so pretty with your skin. I think the dress is really cute, and adore the tucking!
