Eleanor started out life as one of those pink elephants that appear to drunks, but got a lucky break and ended up in the circus as a top performer. Ever the diva, she never goes out without an umbrella to protect her delicate skin.

Eleanor is a paper mach elephant from Micheals. I painted her and a little trinket box (also from Mike's), and then gave her bright rhinestone for her forehead and a polka dotted party hat trimmed with hot pink tinsel. The entire piece was rubbed with ink to give it the look of a well loved toy.

I added fun little details like hot pink toenails and a tiny fleur de lis on her blanket.

Definitely a diva.  Smiley

Very funny. I actually had to go out and purchase that umbrella; I'm not one for ordering fruity drinks in bars.  Cheesy

I'm a sun-ophobic, so I totally relate. It's hard being whitey-white pale.  Cheesy

She's so, so cute, racky! I keep trying to buy some of those elephants, but the papier-mch section of our Michaels stays consistently wiped out during the summer (lots and lots of churches in town means lots and lots of Vacation Bible Schools stocking up on cute, cheap craft supplies). Keep posting your adorable projects featuring them and I may be tempted to camp out and wait for a truck full of new stock to show up Wink
