I recently bought a sewing machine, so now I'm getting ready for the summer to arrive by sewing a couple of things for myself.

The shorts are highwaisted, sort of retro and with snap fasteners.

And the back is just simple. I probably could have added pockets, but I rather like the simplicity.

Secondly a light summer blouse in a pretty floral pattern. It's made over the basic shape of a very 80's sweatshirt and then I just had to freestyle the neckline. The fabric was actually easier to work with than I'd expected, so a pleasant surprise there.

I really wanted to have this knot I could tie as a form of decoration (My dad later complained that I'd done it all wrong, because I'd put it on the opposite side of the blouse than what I'd indicated on my drawing of it Wink)

Thank you for looking! Hope you like them.

That top is so cute (fantastic print) and I love the shorts too. Did you use a pattern for the shorts or did you wing em'? Either way, great job!

Thank you OhMyGosh and pookyblossom for the ego boost!  Wink

I used a pattern from an older Danish sewing magazine I'd bought at a thrift shop. It had a neat picture tutorial too, which helped a lot in understanding some of the somewhat cryptic instructions.

Okay, I'm here stalking your posts for the Envie swap, but I just wanted to say: You are adorable!
Alos, those shorts are too cute. Love the buttons on the front, and I like the back plain. Smiley

In the end, only kindness matters.
