polymer clay and glass.

i made this for a knitting mad colleague Smiley
i made a bangle using this technique way back in January** by making flat sheet then curving it around an armature though i loved the look i got frustrated by the way the 'stitches' stretched and distorted as when wrapping a textured sheet around an object so i built rows of stitches directly onto the glass candle holder. through the stitches didnt stretch and warp its much easier to get straight 'stitches' when creating a flat sheet.

since i had a few extruder strands left over i decided to play around. i wanted to try creating patterns with the technique.

the one on the left is made using red for the 'loops' the one on the right i cut the strands to approximately the correct size before placing them over the loops and indenting to create the stitches (this was by far the more fiddly of the two techniques)

** the cuff and a tutorial for this technique can be found here : https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=369706.0

as always comments or advice are more than welcome Smiley

Very nice!!  Like the top one especially.

Love seeing raw polymer clay woven and braided too, just so cool-looking.
