Like every other church in the tri-state-area and beyond we are doing the panda VBS curriculum.  Since I won't be on deck to help that week I wanted to put some time in in advance.

I volunteered to make patches and puppets.

The VBS patches are put together on wool felt from machine shapes, fonts and a freebie from Embroiderydesigns.com.  The puppet and the volunteer patches are designs purchased from emblibrary.com and are stitched out on upcycled denim.

The ladies group did the cutting out and is helping with the trimming so there are a lot of threads to clip in the picture.

It is very kind of you to make sure you've contributed when you can't be there. The patches look excellent, and are all the better for being on reclaimed denim and the panda puppet is just cute.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

What a nice and generous contribution you have made!  Those are terribly cute!

What volunteer wouldn't want to have a patch with a crown!

I would never have thought to use my embroidery machine to do something like this...now I want to make patches for the girls in my knitting classes this fall!
