saw this idea online and loved it too! yours look great! I agree about not being sure if you want to paint them -- you might get more use out of them if you kept them clear. One thought might be to use colored glow sticks just set (even tapped?) under the platters -- a pink one might look cool through the glassware and still be removable after the party. This is what I'm thinking of: http://cometogetherkids.blogspot.com/2011/06/glow-in-dark-drinks.html

Thanks for sharing!

They look great! i might have to try this at some point.
if you wanted to tie them in with the theme a bit you could always tie some ribbons round them or decorate with tissue flowers in the relevant colours
as for the baking bit Mary Berry recipes are really easy and come out great

thanks for the baking link! I love the ideas for ribbons, flowers, and glow stuff! The glow drinks on that link are awesome! But her party is during the day so it probably wouldnt show up so well.

I just love these...I've thought of making them and now you gave me that push to do it.

These would be great to give at Christmas filled with cookies.

I used them for my daughters party and they worked very good, nice and sturdy! I did end up taking apart the one that has the tall skinny base with the rectangular top because I wasnt sure how sturdy it would be with food on it. But all the rest of them worked out great and they held up well with cleaning. I didnt put them in the dishwasher though, just handwashed and dried.
