This graphite drawing is near and dear to me. What started out as a Drawing I project for a college course turned into an anniversary gift for my husband. The challenege was to take 3 separate pictures and make them into a cohesive drawing. The lighthouse represents Pemaquid Point in Maine, where my husband's family was shipwrecked in 1635. The anchor is because he's a boat captain and I work in the fishing charter business. The rings obviously represent our wedding, but he also used to call my wedding band my anchor. He always wanted to get it on me quick before I "drifted off" somewhere else. Which he knew was never a possibility, anyway!

The bottom photo is not very high quality photography, but I just wanted to show what it looked like framed. PS- I never really considered myself someone who could draw until I took this class. Now I guess I'm not half bad.
