I'm trying to figure out a way to make bobblehead dolls. I'm in a band, and for the bass-player's birthday I want to make him bobblehead dolls of each of the five band members. I'm wonderring if anyone knows any tricks. I figure it will involve springs and wood, and maybe Sculpey or something.
Any advice or ideas for me on how to make heads that really bobble?

I made a bobblehead by accident-- My husband made a puppet head in a papier-mache class in Mexico, and somebody who doesn't know him very well gave him a football-player bobblehead for Christmas, so when we got home we pulled the original head off the football player and used that poster-tack junk to attach his puppet head. It worked great. (Then we put the football player head on a stick in a plant and everybody who sees it thinks it's Bill Clinton!)

So I would recommend buying some "real" bobblehead dolls (dollar store??) and making new heads for them out of papier mache, since they'd be light enough to actually bobble. You can paint the bodies with acrylic or sew new outfits.

Good luck! Lisa
