Okay, I've been web surfing and craftster stalking for 10 days now and am coming up a blank. I've found lots of sites with free and for sale preemie clothes but it's not what I want. I would like to make jeans and mini "dickie" pants and button up cotton shirts for my first great grandson. I will be recycling some of his dad's clothes and using stash fabric. He weighs just 5 lbs and is 17 inches long. He is home with us now as he is healthy, just soooooo tiny! Mom and Dad are both teen parents.Mom lives with me as I am raising her and her two brothers. Dad lives a block away with his grandmother.Does anyone have any ideas or perhaps any of the SUNRISE DESIGN patterns in their stash they would be willing to part with. I'd even be willing to trade some of my crafting or even pay rent on the patterns if someone was willing to loan and send them to me. I hope this post doesn't end up in limbo. I try very hard to follow the Craftster guidelines.

What about working from a dolls clothes pattern for larger bolls, like cabbage patch? In the 80's my mum made a few preemie dresses for friend from one, a shirt and pants should be easy enough. Hope this helps. :-)

This certainly could be a toughie as most doll clothes patterns are for girl dolls. I would definitely find a brand of doll that is about your little fellow's size and google patterns specifically for that doll (perhaps American Girl or some such thing?). Maybe you can find some jean patterns at least. A "western" outfit for a girl doll might work.

When in doubt, sauerkraut.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. Fortuantely at two months old he finally fits newborn size.
