Using a Groupon discount I took a "crash glass" class at a nearby stained glass studio and made a Father's Day gift for my hubby. It is essentially a scrapbooking layout epoxied to glass in a picture frame, then pieces of tempered glass are epoxied to the top and then grouted like a mosaic. Some of my epoxy oozed and messed up my grouting but I think it looks pretty cool for my first attempt.

The whole shebang in/on an 8 x 10 frame.

Partial close-up of the top - great quotation about love, one of our favorite comics (specifically a strip related to parenthood), and a picture from our wedding.

Partial close-up of the bottom - another comic, a picture of me and the hubby, a pic of hubby holding our new baby girl, and a pic of our little boy riding on daddy's shoulders.

Tempered glass is one of my favorites to work with. For a first you did great!

Thanks Smiley After having done it once, I think I could do again at home and get even better results. The process is surprisingly easy and I think the cracked tempered glass creates a really neat effect.

You can get tempered glass from most glass shops, or you can go to the auto glass places and get it there for free if it is already broken from a car.  Smiley
