What a piece of work is man!

I made this calendar for madmommymia in the Harry Potter swap. She really loves Dumbledore so I made a calendar with a bunch of his quotes on it (and in Gryffindor colors!) for her to use this year. The front page has the book illustration of Dumbledore's chocolate frog card (such a cute drawing):

Then I paired a quote that I researched in the books with each month and put the chapter and book number at the bottom. I googled "Dumbledore's handwriting font" and typed them up using the same font used in the books! It was pretty neat that I was able to find and install it that easily. I think the font is called Freestyle LT.

I burned the edges of all the quotes (printed on cardstock) with a lighter...which was pretty time consuming, and also smelly. I was really happy with the result though! And I was happy I didn't catch anything on fire.

I made the cover from some interfacing and leftover leather from a thrift store jacket I tore up (I called it dragon skin!) and added a little purple calligraphy D to the front. Punched holes through all the pages and the cover and tied them together with ribbon.

Thanks for looking!
