I didn't have much to work with, just some things from around the house(somebody stole money outs my wallet so I couldn't buy material Cry). I used an old pillowcase and dacided to turn it into a skirt.

Here is the pillowcase I used:

First I ripped the thread out of the closed end.  It was too big, so I measured and elastic that fit around my waist without stretching it and added on 1 or 2 inches to sew the ends together.  Then I put marks on the inside of the pillow case about 2 inches from the ripped edge. Then I folded the end over so it met with the marks and sewed along it.  I left about 2 inches open so I could put the elastic through.  I stuck a safety pin the one end of the elastic and pulled it through the hole till it came out the other side.  I sewed the to ends of the elastic together, then closed up to hole in the pillowcase.

It was still really lose, so I did some extra stitches on bothe sides pulling it tighter.

Et voila!  Me uber sexy skirt. Smiley

It's still a tiny bit loose, but if I wear pink underwear then I don't care Tongue

I still have another matching pillowcase that I might turn into a tank top or sumthing to go with it.  I also have plain blue pillowcases that I might do the same with.

That skirt is really cute, and now I feel like a complete moron for never realizing just how simple it would be to turn a pillowcase into a skirt!!  It just never occured to me, which means I probably spend way too much time making bags.

Wow.. there's so many possibilities!  You can keep it long, cute it short, add lace or ribbons, buttons or bows.. NEATO!!

the first discovery of a pillowcase skirt -- it's a miraculous thing.

Now the wintertime is coming,
The windows are filled with frost.
I went to tell everybody,
But I could not get across.
Well, I wanna be your lover, baby,
I don't wanna be your boss.
Don't say I never warned you
When your train gets lost.

That's a great idea!  You know, i just recently thought "A pillow case would make a great circle tote if you could make it thicker.. it's already round."  How did I miss the skirt part? Great job again!
