My husband and I just bought our first house, and I was SO excited to finally be able to paint the walls! (Now that I'm done with one room, I'm less excited to do all the others...)

Our upstairs (main) bathroom is the only room that's completely done - I tackled it first because it's the only room I actually knew how I wanted to decorate before we moved in.  I've wanted a gray bathroom for a REALLY long time.  I think the color's just clean, fresh, and relaxing.  I painted the walls a light bluish gray, the ceiling a very light gray, and the trim bright white.

This is a quick before picture I took after I took down the mirror and discovered that a) the room used to be bruise purple, and b) the painters did a really bad job.

Besides painting, I added the privacy film to the window, we replaced the light and other fixtures (which were antiqued brass and splattered with paint) with shiny chrome ones, and I sewed a matching fabric border on the towels and shower curtain:

The bath mats are memory foam, and soooo amazingly comfortable! I highly recommend them. I bought one at Bed Bath & Beyond and one at Big Lots.

I love this lantern I found at TJMaxx.  The shelf was in our bedroom at our old apartment, I thought it looked good in here.

Overall I'm really happy with my lovely new bathroom, but also very glad I'm finally done with it!

It's beautiful - great makeover - looks so clean and crisp.  Of course, grey (gray) is my favorite color, so I'm all about it. Smiley

soo nice and clean. I like grey alot as well. Before we moved into this house (rental) I told the landlords I'd paint myself if they bought the paint. I chose an awesome grey color that actually goes with the weird green carpet (and mutes the color of it) as well as freshened up the kitchen. I can't believe the change between that weird dingy yellowy color and the color you chose.

Great job?  Can I ask what brand/color of gray you used?  We are trying to pick a gray paint for our living/dining areas and I'm having no luck!

Very pretty!  The gray paint really makes your white trim and towels pop.

cowboyjunki - it's Parker Paint's "Helium," I'm not sure of the number.  We used a different base, though (Dutch Boy's Kitchen & Bath) so it might not be an exact match.

I love the color! I'd never thought that gray is a crisp and fresh color, but it is. It works so well in your bathroom!

This came out nice! I love gray. I painted my bedroom the same color and it just gives it a nice fresh look. And there are so many different decorating ideas you can do with gray. Nice job.
