The Renegade Craft Fest was in Austin this weekend, and after attending I was hit with some mad inspiration. I had long dreamt of taking apart the remnants of my old wallet that had long since busted and redoing it in a better fabric. So, I got my seam ripper and some tracing paper and got to work.

This is the result of about 2 hours of fiddling with measurements, ripping out basting, pinning/repinning and cursing.

This is my new favorite fabric - Echino Glasses. I've made more than a couple of wallets and pouches as well as a key FOB with it so I can have it with me at all times. It makes my heart smile.

This picture shows the inside pockets. Please excuse the ripped in half dollar, it was the only cash I had. I threw in the red zipper for a little pizzaz.

And finally, the accordion detail on the side - this was the trickiest part of the process for me, but once I figured out how it was done I think I managed to execute it well.

Critiques and Criticisms welcome - I'm sure whatever you have to say I've said in my head already and hearing it from someone else will make my brain try harder to fix it for next time!

Thanks for looking!

SO awesome!! I love your fabric!!!

I've been thinking about making a similar wallet (but probably with a zipper instead of latch) but the accordion part involves more thought than I've put into it. Any tips? Is it basically just triangles?

Great wallet - the red zip really sets it off well!Did you use any tutorials for the accordian part? or just figure it out yourself?

Use what you've got to create what you want!

This is really nice. It is almost flat, which is what I like about it, & it holds a lot of stuff. How thick is it when it's closed? A side view would've been nice to see the thickness.
