I made this felted knit purse for my mom for her birthday (right around Mother's Day) and it was a big success! This is a pattern by Amanda Silverira: http://knittinginmybackyarn.blogspot.com/

My bag didn't turn out quite like Amanda's pictures because the yarn I used was fairly light and the cable pattern was already subtle before felting. Since the straps were not showing cables well, I let them roll in felting.

I picked up the fabric lining at a sewing shop and pulled the button from my stash. Smiley

What a lovely present.
The yarn looks very soft even though it has been felted.
