Have been doing up a practice piece for the past 2 alternate nights to test some ideas. Here's an initial stage of the practice piece:

I've finished the test piece just a while ago, and can finally start on the actual Ninni tomorrow!

I love the process of creating~

I finished one last night and started two more. And I have a little tip for those of you who may find making the mouth a bit challenging (or maybe it's just me).

I have been sewing the black dot part of the eye and then machine-sewing the whites of the eyes. So when I am using the black thread for the eye, I just baste a line onto the front of the face and then when I machine-sew the mouth, I have a line to follow. Also on the thinner cotton fabrics, I put a felt mouth/piece/scrap on the inside - to stabilize the stitching on the front.

Hope that helps!

Rhinestic - What a cute Ninni - Mr. Ninni - love him!!
Smmarrt - Thanks for those tips - although I've made one Ninni for my little friend, the basted mouth would be easier than the pencil line I was following - My presser foot obscrued the pencil mark at times!

General inquiry:  Do Ninni's ever have tails - Maybe when they are dressed up as a creature or animal with a tail??

So envious of all of you who've gotten to make your Ninnis already!  But I've talked to my partner and picked out my fabric and am brewing all kinds of Embellishment Ideas, now I just need there to be a few dozen more daylight hours in the day... Wink

Don't worry, slothmuffin, there's plenty of time for Ninni crafting!  (Although the following annoucement will, unfortunately, add to your envy...)

I mailed pioneer9's ninni package today!  Should arrive on Friday!  (How about it, Fullmoon, did you get yours mailed today??)

I MAILED OFF ESTAR23'S NINNI TODAY Cheesy One Ninni down one to go ^.^

Maybe once I've cleaned and packed some I'll find packaging material in here easier haha.. Finding a box for Estar's Ninni posed slight difficulties, so I'm worried that the other Ninni may or may not have boxing issues as well XD;;;
