I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right spot!

For the last couple of swaps I was in, I made painted vintage suitcases for my partners. One was for a woman who loved horses and the other was a gear case for a woman who plays roller derby. I found both of them in tocal thrift shops for pretty cheap!

I did the carousel one by painting stripes with tape laid out and then gesso-ing the area for the horse and painting over that after doing a few coats.

The other one I designed based off of the Breakfast at Tiffany's image, replacing her cigarette with a pair of dangling quad skates. I then painted her derby name in the empty space. I love this one so much!

And the inside lining was ripped out and replaced with plush leopard. I couldn't find my camera before I sent, so the only picture I have of it is this one my partner posted with the full package:

Both were sprayed with multiple coats of clear acryllic spray to prevent yellowing/fading/water damage/chipping/etc.

These were so much fun to make! I need to work on a set for myself before my next vacation...

They are lovely. The adaptation you made to Audrey Hepburn makes is extra special.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

These are awesome! You are a seriously talented painter.

I'm going to keep my eye out for cases like these on my thrifting trips Smiley.

that's super rad!!  I have a whole stack of old suitcases, but I just use them for storage and have them stacked like a table.  never even thought of painting them - how brilliant!  You did a great paint job, too.
