Here is the Mini Art Quilt I made for the Mini Art Quilt Round 4 swap.  I named it Peaceful Ripples, and it was inspired by my partner's theme of "water the calm peacefulness."

I handpainted the fabric for depth and and hand quilted the piece with variegated thread.  I used handspun & dyed yarn for the crocheted lilypads; I wanted to captured an organic feel and to add contrast between the water and the lilypads.  I was rather giddy with the results and hopefully it brings smiles to my partner.  So without further delay, the MAQ Grin...

Thanks for peeking!  And thank you to MareMare and pjherbert for organizing the Mini Art Quilt swap; it stretched my crafty muscles and was tons of fun!

I love the textures and different materials you used.  The colors are wonderful, too.  It was a clever idea and you executed it very well.

You really did a great job of capturing your partner's themes with this. It's very peaceful and calm. I absolutely love the way you added the lillypads. The texture is great.

That's beautiful.  The crocheted lillypads definitely make an impact.

Looking for postcards from anywhere to use for RSVP cards for my 8/2012 wedding.  Have 80/200.
