I <3 The Stray Sock Sewing book!  They have such wonderfully fun and easy to make ideas in there!  It is also just a fun read as well.  It has great pictures and descriptions.  Someone had fun making this book!  I also have the Stray Sock Sewing, Too book, but I haven't had a chance to make any of the ones in there yet.  Here are a couple darlings from the first book that I made for my niece's birth.

Here we have a zebra, kitty, and pig.  They are made from kid's and baby's socks.

The kitty was made with a pair of adult ankle sock that I got at JoAnn's.  Everyone once in awhile they have a pair of socks in there for a dollar, generally in the line for the registers. They had some great animal prints and I picked up all the styles.  You need one sock for the entire body and then another for the arms.

The zebra is made with the above mentioned ankle socks from Joann's.  I used one whole sock for the body and one whole sock for the head and had to use a little white from another random sock to make the little arms.  She has buttons for her nose and eyes and some soft pink yarn.    In the book they cut the yarn so it is spiky, but I really like the looped look so I left it.

The pig was made from a kid's sock that had sparklie stripes and hearts.  This was one of the bigger pigs that I did.  I made a set of them, this being the mommy and she had like 4 or 5 babies.  I don't know if I took pictures of all them (must have been going crazy!) so I can't post 'em.  The set turned out really cute.  I used baby socks for the baby pigs.  They were so small and cute!  They are my favorite of the stray sock animals to make.

I'll post pictures when I get around to doing some from the second book!  Thanks for looking!

They are all so adorable, with their little faces. I love the zebra.

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.
