Hey Alchamy! *waves* I think I like outfits 2 and 5 the best.

Amber.hope, looking good! Love how the ruffle turned out! And if the boots are comfy, may as well, eh?

MaxParadise's lil boy is hilariously punk! So cute!

As for me, I totally stalled out for three weeks. Nada, nothing, no progress on my unicorn at ALL. Haven't gotten the woodworking tools, no money for materials, it's extremely depressing. I may have to fall back on my She-Ra costume. The good news is, I found a fishing lure at the dollar store that will make a good horn. Ugh... WHERE'S MY CRAFTY MOJO!?!?!

I know the feeling Alexus @__@  Costume plans fell through due to financial issues, so I'll be cobbling together an urban troll costume once I get a chance to run to the fabric store.  A tail and some ears won't be hard, my clothing will suit fine for being all urbany and trollish XD

We all have a cute, creepy, and/or downright scary monster deep inside of us.  Don't be afraid to let it out!

So right now it's 11am here. I was up ALLLLL NIIIIGHT hauling arse! I got more done on my unicorn costume in the last 48 hours than I have in MONTHS! You can read the whole story in this blog post and the other posts under "costuming," but here's the short version:

I put a hairpiece on the bum of a dress I already own:

I turned a fishing lure into a horn:

And made hooves out of sandals I never wear:

Necessity is truly the mother of invention...this is such a creative use of things you already had...your imagination and crafting skills were put to good use...I can't wait to see the whole thing...I absolutely love the details on your blog about how you did the shoes/hooves!

And, the horn--I am glad you explained that and showed a picture!  From minnow to horn--genius!!

Lots of great costumes! I LOVE Halloween. My daughter says she wants to be a "zombie nurse" and I don't have time to sew the whole costume with all the things going on this month. I found a large man's white lab coat in the clearance corner of our local Goodwill for $1 and a pair of red pants for $1 to cut apart for trim. I am planning on cutting the whole lab coat apart, making it into a dress to fit her, and cutting up the pants for trim, belt, and cross. I should have enough fabric left from the lab coat to make a hat also. I hope this works. I won't have time to work on it until Sunday because we are having a get together tomorrow. Wish me luck! I'm going to be so excited if this works and I make her whole costume for $2! If it doesn't work...I have no idea lol!

I also wore white thigh highs with red bows I got at Walmart, just black shoes (not yellow). I also did my makeup purple.
I had to redo my zipper last minute because my previous one wasn't long enough and I had to cut myself out of my dress...
I wore this last night and I was freezing! It was a fun night.
