Hi Grin

I stayed with my biological mother for the 1st time ever in February! Cheesy It was so exciting and bizarre. Well, she and her husband have a little shitzu named JoJo. Joe for short. I adore him, but he smelled awful. His hair was long and matted and he was well overdue for a bath. Why hadn't he been pampered? Goldendale, WA has very different weather from the rest of the state of Washington, they really only have two seasons, summer and winter. Winter season is still going on right now (My bio mom informed me that they received snow yet again the other day @[email protected] ) and will be for probably this and maybe next month? My step dad doesn't shave JoJo until it's warm out. Well, that's fine and all, but I needed someone to keep me company during the day while they were both at work until my bio mom would get home and play with me! So JoJo was my home boy, but the smell.. Oh the smell... So one night, my bio mom and I were out and about and we get back to the house and I'm like "We NEED to give JoJo a bath, and then I'm giving him a hair cut. He smells so bad." My bio mom took care of washing him (he hates baths and all sorts of other shenanigans) and then I chased him around the bathroom with a hair drier lol! I had to baracade in him a corner to properly dry him, but ohwell. He was dry. Then I carried him out into the living room, took out some spring loaded scissors, and very carefully chopped off his hair. JoJo became much happier and smelled much better. Cheesy Then my step dad showed me the sheers I should have used on him and JoJo started panicking LOL. Poor guy. He HATES the sheers. But there was just one problem. The dog has to be able to go outside to do his business, and it's too cold outside. I couldn't find Sam's dog sweater (Sam was the old shitzu who passed away) and I happened to have tons and tons of fleece and supplies on me due to a private shopping spree I had at Hancock Fabrics. Cheesy You know what that means?! CRAFTY FUN Cheesy

This is JoJo post haircut, hanging out in his sweater. ^_^ And yes, shitzu's normally have very long tails... Well... I didn't know this until I was half way through chopping off his tail Tongue Ohwell, JoJo is happy and it's a funny story to tell. Cheesy

JoJo actually is not angry, although he appears so in this picture haha... He just has sort of a strange face. >_>;;; This is a good look at the colors of the sweater, although the orange is a tad brighter.

This is JoJo's dog sweater. ^_^ Complete with a big blue skull-ish thingy Cheesy I didn't have a sewing machine handy so I hand sewed it. Originally it was going to have sleeves, but the sleeves didn't fit him properly, so I chopped them off and he seemed happier that way Cheesy On the plus side, whenever my bio mom or my step dad take JoJo out late at night or really early in the morning, they never have to worry about losing sight of him because he freaking glows, literally LOL Smiley

My bio mom and my step dad think he looks really cute and they love it x)

Great work and way to be a trooper about helping poor JoJo! My father-in-law and his wife have rescue shitzus and have to keep them trimmed really short because of the Texas heat. One is named Chewie because he looks like Chewbacca when his hair is long but an Ewok when it's short, and he has a weirdish face too Smiley

Jojo was rescued from a puppy mill I think. There were apparently 10 of them in a really tiny pen and when my bio mom picked up JoJo along w/ another from the shelter, they all had really bad habits and JoJo and the other one (I never learned the other ones name :s ) would pee everywhere and the one would give the other oral and they'd hump everyone and everything and all sorts of stuff, and the two couldn't really be kept together due to the chaos they could cause, so one of the neighbors (I think the one who's a relative), has the other one now, and they've both become way more manageable.
