I'm a novice sewer, but this was the first time I attempted to sew with piping. It was actually really easy, but it uses more thread.

suereal - I'm planning on working up a tutorial for the box/basket as well as the pins next week.  I took pictures along the way for both of them.  Hubby used Liquid Nails I believe.  I'll double check though.  He thought I was nuts when I asked him to make them for me but he's a trouper.  I think he kind of enjoyed it.

Thanks Yarn or Fabric!  I look forward to the tut.  And nice working getting your Hubby to "come over to the dark side".  Soon you'll have him knitting Grin..or even better!  Acting as a dress form (best not tell him I said that)

I've tried to talk him in to digitizing embroidery designs as well as helping me learn to use the quilting frame but he won't touch it.  He doesn't even want the kids to learn anything overly crafty.  I think he has some insecurities there lol.

Oh - here's a picture of the front of the patchwork box I did up for StacySews... I have a solo shot but I'm being lazy

ahh. even lazier.  I'm not going to delete the other picture..

And the pins...

and the Dwight tin.  It was one of my first Altoid tin alterations and I learned a lot along the way. I have a few tins here that just didn't make the cut.  This one I was not jumping for joy over it and I almost didn't send it.  The others I did with fabric and I didn't like them at all.  Fabric gets really hard and scratchy with mod podge although a few more coats might take care of that.. but then so would just chucking them....

Pretty much the whole package I sent were things I had never made before. I had never done any hexagon quilting. I had never done an embroidery project, and had never made any tree pendants. In fact the only jewelry I've ever made was a birds nest pendant. So the turtle is a bit wonky(gives character), the pink trees were my starter ones and the green is the one I think turned out the best. That was even the first plastic bag holder I've made...and the first time I've worked with elastic. I really enjoyed crafting for you princesspimp! I gained a ton of confidence in myself with this swap. It couldn't have been more fun!

The new thing i did for you was zippers - The box bag was my first zipper. They really aren't as difficult as i had feared. Your Hoop was wonderful! I can't believe it was a first time embroidery project!

I've never done zippers and am scared to death of them! And I must say that I even brought it up to my fiance how nice your zippers looked. I thought you were a pro! And the box bag itself ROCKS! It really keeps it's shape. You did an amazing job Smiley

I have to say, I think this may take the title of my favorite swap gallery to date.  I love seeing all the packages and how individual they are.  This is so cool!
