I scored a black trashbag full of new fabric (all 1/2 yard and bigger) for $10.00 yesterday!! Shocked Shocked Shocked They are mostly solid colors but some prints.

My question is should I wash all the fabric before I store it or not? When I buy yardage in smaller amounts I always wash and press before I put it away. What would you do???

Also, I am 99.9% sure all of it is 100% cotton but how do you make sure? It looks and feels like cotton but I want to be certain.

Thanks,
Tricia

First off that is an awesome score!!

I would definately wash them because a)you don't know where they've been and b) if you do all your other fabric it will suck trying to figure out whether something is washed or not, especially when you need it.

There is a burn test that you can do to determine what fabric is made of. http://www.extension.iastate.edu/Publications/PM734.pdf
