I just wanted to give you an overview of what my vision is for The Artisans' Room.
This is a new venture for me, so this might sound a little bit rough around the edges.
My vision is a store front with original Arts/Crafts created by true artists and crafters. I would like a variety from paintings, sewing's, knitting, organically made, recycled, re purposed types of work to sell. I want to let the true artists and crafters have a place to sell their creations, giving true talent be seen by others. Not the industrial made products. I would also like to offer classes for all ages, children and adult, so I would also be looking for artists and crafers that might like to teach (paid) a class. I would also like to, if this takes off, to be able to rent additional space for those who do not have a place to work or store their materials a place to work. There is additional space next to mine that I would like to have several different kinds of work stations, example: sewing, jewelry, knitting, sculpting, work tables, also with lockers/storage space.
As far as my vendors, I would like to work either on a consignment basis, rental space, or buy at wholesale prices, and this would depend on what the products are and quantity.
Classes: would be on a class by class basis, age group and what they project/lesson is.
Work Area: I would like to work it like a membership basis. Either a yearly, monthly, daily fee. They would be able to come and work at any station at anytime, for any length of time. Again depending on products and so forth.
So this is my vision, I hope that you can picture my ideas, again this is new to me but am will to listen and learn from others. I am hoping to have The Artisans' Room open by June 1st.
RT. 146 Sutton Ma.
Hope to hear from you.

I am moving to Sterling, Ma in August and would like to check out your place!  It sounds like a perfect place for artists/craftspersons!  I am hoping to find some crafty friends!  Mostly I crochet and sew (clothing and costumes for stage/halloween) but I also can felt, make paper and paint.
