Well sugar! It looks like a real rose.
What will you be using them for?

Wow, it is amazing!
It looks so much like a real rose that it is hard to believe you made it with your own hands.
This rocks!

Thanks everyone.  Cheesy
I have a four tier wedding cake to do for the end of April. The bride wants blue lillies and white roses. I have already made the lillies (I posted a pic on craftster) and now I have to make the roses. About 20 of them.

Gumpaste is a mix of pure icing sugar (confectioners sugar) and a gum like tylose or gum tragacanth - other ingredients change depending on the recipe you use. Some use gelatin; some also use egg white. But basically what you're after is a firm paste that you can roll so thin you can see writing through it, and then you cut your petals out. There's a HEAP of tutorials on youtube on how to make these.
You can also make them out of cold porcelain.
Alan Dunn is a sugarcraft expert and makes THE MOST AMAZING roses! I wanted to be able to make them the way he does, so people have to ask "Is that real?"

Great job!  I would have said it was real if you hadn't said otherwise  Grin
