Does anyone know if there's a horse pattern that actually looks more realistic? Not perfect but not too cute-wee-kids-toy and not "hot dogs for legs"? I know there's that really complicated one on dA that was also posted here, but it's far too big and wouldn't downsize well. I'd like one that could be made reasonably small.  It doesn't have to be a free pattern as long as it doesn't cost and arm and a leg and a lung. Grin

I've seen some felt model horses recently and want to try but patterns don't seem too easy to come by and I'm not sure I could get a horse pattern right on my own.

Thank you.

Is this kind of what you're looking for?  Maybe you could alter it a bit.

Etsy is a great place to look, I haven't found many good free patterns out there for horses Sad.

I've seen those, might try them if I can't find anything better. Thank you, though! Cheesy

Horses are so popular, you'd think there'd be more patterns! XD

I think you would be able to make the legs skinnier.  If you look at a pic of a horse, you should be able to sketch out a head pattern, and just add a gusset for the top of the head.  I hope this helps a little.

I found this pattern http://ludicrouslouisa.deviantart.com/art/Horse-pattern-79941278

In her gallery you have also instructions on how to sew the horse, and they are very realistic.

Grin That's actually the one I meant by the "really complicated one on dA". Sadly she doesn't think it can be made smaller, and those ones are huge. But thank you.

Oh, ok, sorry Embarrassed But about the size, what if you try resizing it in a copy shop, it should work. (although it'll still be a really complicated pattern :S)
