I'm in the process of a bedroom redo and I needed some accent pillows.  I wanted a yellow print to go with my new grey walls.  This is what I ended up with:

I found this Jacket at Goodwill and was immediately drawn to the texture and the color.  It was perfect.

I used one of the sleeves to make a cover for my neck roll pillow.  I used the buttons to finish off the ends.

The majority of the body of the jacket went to making the rectangular pillow in the first picture.  The jacket had this great lining so I used it to make this pillow.  I used the existing seams in the lining to give it an organic feel adding a few here and there to continue the look.

Very nice!  I like how you used the lining as well!

Thanks.  It had such a great color and sheen that I just had to use it.  I still have the pockets, one arm, and some other pieces left.  There was this one detail piece on the back of jacket that is the shape of a sleep mask already lined and everything.  I just have to add elastic.  It's perfect since my current sleep mask is a hot pink kitty in the city mask and won't match my new room at all.

One of the pockets has a tag in it that says "Life is a journey.  Keep Warm.  Stay Dry."  Not sure where I'm going to use the but I'll find a place somewhere!

This is an excellent idea!  I am also in the middle of a bedroom redo and looking for cheap ways to do so.  What a wonderful idea to use a coat, both inside and out!
