My daughter has a gorgeous crocheted bonnet that we were given - but it's too big for her, so I have to fold it back, which makes it a bear to tie under her chin when she's fighting me over that.  So I decided to try making her a pull-on cap.  This little project would be no big deal to most of you, but it's a huge deal to me, as it's my first "in the round" project, and I've worked on fewer than five crochet projects total (completed only one other one, so far).

I was really pleased with how even my stitches came out - although the joins in the back (see last picture) are pretty ugly and left some weird holes.  (It turns out that, apparently, my pattern gave incorrect instructions for joining rounds.  I did some googling in the middle of the hat and figured out what I should be doing, so it's much better on the last two rounds.)  Images are clickable, btw.

I tried and tried to get a good picture of it on.  (It's so shapeless just lying there.)  But she hates it, so I never succeeded.  Finally I gave up and just photographed it, so here it is with the scalloped edging.  (Honestly, I think I liked it better before; the shape was cuter.  But this way it does cover her ears better.)
