Yes, I know we're far from Halloween, but I was partnered with cackle in the last round of the IYP, and she loves vintage Halloween as much as I do, so I sent her some October-worthy stuff, including this little witch box.

The box itself really makes the project; it's an old handmade specimen box from the Chicago Field Museum (Thanks to  jungrrl, who was kind enough to offer it in the STS swap. Isn't swapping great?!) Anyway, the box was handmade, and had all this wonderful writing on the bottom. I took the bottom apart and reconstructed it so the writing showed inside. I added a spider charm, some tiny jars that once contained watch parts (now filled with glitter), and a little watch part. I took a witch image from an Alpha Stamps collage sheet, built it up with foam so she stood away from the back wall, and voila! A witch box. The word "witch" is from an ancient dictionary, and there's a convenient hanger on the back, in case cackle feels the need to put this on her wall. I loved this box so much that I didn't even wash the glass before sending it. It was so delightfully aged.

Here 'tis!

It's simple, but I still love it.

PS. Did you see the clock cackle sent me? It's amazing! Click here to check it out!

this is beautiful, simple but great, who said it has to be complicated to be beautiful?
