Hi all!!

So, I'm just about to finish up my second year of university. I'm moving to an apartment with a friend of mine where I will have enough to room to set up a small sewing corner (and I mean a corner. I will have, mayybeee, three square feet to keep things).

Up until now I've only used my mum's machine, and it is a PAIN. Tension is always a problem, and threading it is like making a deal with the devil. Anyway, the point of this is that I do have experience with machines, and I can handle something known to be more finnicky, though of course simple and easy to use is always better.

What I need is a small-ish sewing machine that is still hardy enough for rough and tumble clothing sewing.

I was wondering if anyone had a sewing machine of generally this description that they love and would reccomend?

Thanks a bunch!!
Sam

P.S. I've been looking at the Singer Confidence 7470. It seems like it's taking the ease of the Inspiration series but still giving advanced sewers the room to, well, sew (instead of the machine doing everything!). I've just been looking online so I don't know the price of the confidence, and I also haven't looked at any reviews yet. Anyone here have a 7470, and if so, is it pleasant to work with?
