I'm having problems with a line in a pattern. It's to make a border that has pink breast cancer ribbons on it. For the ribbon, you ch 34, then do hdc back along the chain. At the point where the two sides of the ribbon cross and attach to each other it says 'take free end of hdc behind current stitch, yo, insert hook into next ch and into base of 9th stitch from end of loop, yo, and pull through all loops on hook". I just can't figure this out.
I'd appreciate any help.
PS - It's #123 from Edie Eckman's Around the Corner book.

I figured it out - it came to be in a flash of inspiration!  It means to take the end of the chain that I'm working on and put it behind the current stitch to create the effect of the ribbon.  Then work through the next stitch and the 9th from the end to attach the ribbon to itself.
