I teach kids to skate, and for this years carnival decided I'd get my hands on the costuming too!  And of course, being the procrastinator I am, I did them all within the 5 days before the carnival... Grin
These aren't my kids, so for their safety, I blurred their faces.  i know it can be distracting, but no deal.  they aren't mine, I don't have the right to post their faces on public forums.
Anywho....  Pics!

This one was from scratch, and believe it or not, the skirt has 100$ worth of trim on it!  Shocked

This is the hair piece i made to go with it.  Yay for feathers and hot glue guns!

This one was recon'd.  It started life as a hideous "flying monkey" Which didn't really look like a monkey at all, more like a flying squirel.  I cut the "wings" out, and zipped(sewed) up the sides, added the spots on the back and changed out the tail.  i then cut one of the other "flying monkey's" up to make the headband.

I also made a cat ears and tail, and a skunk outfit, and some birds wings, but between organizing and watching the carnival, I had  no time for pictures!  these were the only two i could snap!

Costumes are so fun, aren't they?  That feather thing is gorgeous!  Is it stuck onto one of those plastic headband things?

Thanks Ladies!  costumes are fun!  The feathers are attached to felt and then attached to a little plastic headband.  So, in short, yes!
