For this necklace, I rolled tube beads around toothpicks, and then rolled them on pieces of string for the random carving effect.  I pulled out the string, and shaped them around the base of a drinking glass.  After curing, I painted them with black acrylic pant, then sanded it off with 400 grit paper.  Finally, I varnished them with acrylic floor wax (Pledge Future), and strung them with silver spacer beads.

I really love polymer clay tube beads too...soo many possibilities.

Would love to see a closeup as well if you have one to get a good look at the effect of the string impressions (and antiquing in the impressions too).

what a beautiful necklace. i love the idea of using string to create carved effect. they look like coral beads.
