Just started work on my first item a little while ago.  Accidentally transferred Sharpie ink to my Pyrex bakeware by cooking a shrinkydink upside own.  Oops.  Then I burnt my fingers on the second one.  Maybe I should wait 'til tomorrow to continue crafting? lol

I just came across this article on the Guardian and thought it might interest people on here - it's all linked in with World Book Day (was this swap timed to suit that or was it a happy coincidence? Smiley) On the theme of giving books...

Definitely just a happy coincidence. I've never heard of World Book Day!

Got supplies today. I've got ideas for two out of the three. Lots of time for crafting tomorrow and I'll actually have a day next week off while my little one is in school! It has been so long since I've had one ofthose days.

FYI - Borders filed for chapter 11!!!  If you've got one near you check to see if they're closing.  I went yesterday and picked up 75 dollars worth of books for 50!  SCORE! =)

Ok, I think I have my books picked out but it's still possible that that will change if I find something better! And I think I have my projects all figured out, now just to get to it!

Uh oh! I think that's no good for the publishing industry. . . not that we even have Borders here in Canada, but still. Scary news!

Accio Books!  has started!  This year the Harry Potter Alliance is helping to build a library in a charter school in Brooklyn, New York that started without one.  You can help by donating books suitable for k-5 to the school or by buying some for yourself through Borders.com with the special HPA code (or print it off and see if you can use it in store at your branch)  Last year the HPA gathered 50,000 books to send to underserved areas.  http://thehpalliance.org/action/campaigns/deathly-hallows/horcrux-5/  When you donate, you get to enter points for your Hogwarts house Smiley

In swap news, do you ever have those moments when you buy something for a new craft, not sure if it's going to work, then get it home and find that it's PERFECT?  I did today!  Can't wait to get the rest of my supplies on Monday!
