After running across the discussion thread for the Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Part 2 Swap, it dawned on me that I have not yet posted my projects from part 1!  This was the first real crochet project I've ever completed, not counting dishcloths, of course Smiley

I really wanted to spoil my partner (who is very much a Molly Weasley fan) so I decided that one of the items HAD to be a very Weasley shawl.  As a crochet novice, I was not about to create my own pattern so I found a suitable one at lionbrand.com (Moonlight Mohair Shoulder Snuggle, Pattern #50121) and substituted the yarns of my choice.  I used Homespun in place of the Moonlight Mohair, 2 strands of Caron Simply Soft in place of Lion Suede, and added a border of 2 strands of fluffy eyelash yarn before the fringe.  This project was so much fun, and I am very pleased with the results.  My sister keeps bugging me to make her one now, too!

You did a great job on your Shoulder Snuggle/Weasley Shawl! Awesome colors and nice yarn substitution.

I was in fact THRILLED to receive this shawl!  I got so many compliments on it the day of the opening!  I wore it to work that day and everyone except one co-worker stopped to tell me how cute it was.  The odd co-worker out said I looked "like a phesant", but I can't stand her anyways so her opinion doesn't count.  I also wear this around the house on a frequent basis.  Snuggling up to watch a movie or read a book?  Well a blanket can warm your lap but you need a shawl to warm your shoulders!

I love how the colors blended together and it looks soooo comfy! How many different shades of yarn did you end up using to get that look?
