So I have a friend who makes vintage book journals and she inspired me to take some of my old records and make journals from those covers.  Album art work is really awesome!

My first attempt was this planner:

Here is the inside:

Don't ask me how I made the calendar insert, it is a long embarrassing story.

From there I looked at what I had around my house to make more calendars/journals from!

VIDEO CASSETTES!  A dying collection, but they have awesome artwork from our favorite movie!

So one day, I was at the thrift store and I found the Original Star Wars Movies on VHS!

So I scooped them up!

The cardboard they are printed on isn't very sturdy, so when I opened them up, I glued the box to chip board and used black cardstock on the opposite side to finish it off.

The result:

They are sturdy!  I filled them with black computer printer paper, but I am making my husband a special one with graph paper!

Here is another Calendar I made from a Record Album Cover: South Pacific!

I am having some issues properly lining up the pages and covers and punches....if anyone has used the same binding machine, or has any tips, I would greatly appreciate the help!

My candle burns at both ends, it will not last the night.  But oh, my friends, and oh, my foes, it gives a lovely light.

I love the idea of video covers Cheesy

And about the image problem, I don't know if it's possible to show from flicr, you need to have the right codes, it has to be with [ at first. I know that photobucket has those codes.

These are sweet! If I may be so nosy, could I ask what kind of machine that is you're using? I've been looking to get some sort of coil binding machine for awhile. Smiley
