My daughter turned 23 Wednesday, that really makes me feel old!  She fancies herself a child of the '80's, even though she can't possibly remember them, having been born at the tail end of the decade.

I had been entertaining the idea of making her a cover/case for her new Macbook, but I was struggling with the right inspiration.  Then I saw a costume accessory somewhere on the web that gave me the push I needed.

I thought about making it out of felt, but I was afraid it wouldn't hold up well, so I used fleece instead.  I used fusible fleece on both the lining and the shell, for added padding.  Prince is playing on the tape deck, which I covered with a piece of vinyl to look like the door.  Poor Prince is crooked, though Roll Eyes

I was originally going to make handles, but the more I thought about it, I decided that an adjustable strap would be more in keeping with a boombox.

The lining-what self respecting hippie can be without peace signs?

Perfect fit!!  (after a couple of adjustments and an add-on, of course  Tongue)
