A friend of mine commissioned me to make her a diaper bag. I wanted to make something that was easy-access all around because I remember how I hated fumbling with the zippers and buckes on mine. Diaper bags are not my favorite things to make, as they take a lot of planning and time to put together, but I'm happy with how it came out, and so is she.

Dimensions:

Width: 16.5" at base, 15" at opening
Length: 12" deep
Strap: 32"

Features:

- Elastic gathered side pockets, great for bottles, shoes, sunglasses, etc.
- Large elastic gathered back pocket on outside, good for easy access of necessities.
- Two large inside pockets - one flat pocket with velcro closure, one elastic gathered pocket.
- Flap closure trimmed in piping, secures with velcro.
- Fabrics used: Aqua and green dot pattern, blue cotton (inside elastic pockets) , green cotton and mottled green dotted cotton fabric for the lining.
- Lined with 2-ply interfacing to make it sturdy.
- Matching changing pad/burp cloth/blanket with fleece folds and fits in inside pocket.
- Made with love.

Very freaking cute.  Those colors are wonderful, very summery and the gathered pockets are such a sweet and feminine yet functional detail Smiley

That is a stunning diaper bag! I'd say its prefect for summer. I really love the gathered look on the pockets, it goes well with the pattern on the fabric

Oh, that's stunning!  How long did it take you to make it?  I'd use it as a purse.

Sewer Rat, it took about 8 hours total. A lot of that was planning and pattern making though so next time (if there is one) it might not take so long. My insomnia comes in handy sometimes.
