So I finally finished it... it was a christmas gift for a friend that I started on dec 1st and didn't manage to get in the mail until... Jan 13th.   I'm so glad it's done, I just used a basic granny square pattern each square is about 5x5 making the whole blanket a pretty decent twin size (it's a little thin on the sides so I might add to it at some point).  Those of you who may have talked me off my ledge a couple days before I mailed it thank you.  I had felt it was an epic failure and got disgusted with it for about 24 hours including threatening to run it over repeatedly with my car.

In all actuality I'm just so glad it's done, it was a ton of work, but my friend absolutely loved it as did his mom, who doesn't even really like video games.
c&c welcome, but try and do easy on me I very rarely get to post a completed project on the boards.... usually I don't finish them my closet is full of storage bins with 1/2 done projects.

also should mention the colors are authentic tetris colors, my bedroom is just so dark I needed to use the flash on my camera which left me with a very washed out picture.  The square blocks are actually yellow (they look white) and the "yellow" looking ones are really orange..... <sigh> I just wanted to get the thing posted and be done lol  Embarrassed

Excellent work!  I'm so glad you were able to finish it, and that it was well received. ^_^

Next time you make something like this (or if anyone else reading this is thinking about it), I recommend a join-as-you-go joining method (like this one: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=348031.0 ) so that if you run into a problem, you can easily just remove the problematic squares and move them around if needed. ^_^

I've been meaning to make something like this for my brother, and your post has given me a little kick to get off my duff and make it! Thank you!

One world...make it great! Deck-OR-ATE!

Excellent job. There's a lot of work gone into that, no-wonder you were threatening to run it over. I'm glad you didn't.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

Looks great! I'm always insanely jealous when I see someone has finished one of these, because the 10x20 grid means it's 200 squares, and they take forever to make.

I've done 134 squares of my tetris blanket. It's the reason I taught myself to crochet. I didn't use an easy granny method though, because I don't like blankets with holes. Each of my squares is 3" of solid single crochet. I completely know how you feel - I've been working on mine since July, and the goal is to finish before August.
