i had so much fun spinning this yarn i wanted to post it! i spun three singles, one from wensleydale wool, one from Black Diamond carbonized bamboo silk, and the last one was from Himilayan cat hair! a friend of mine had her cat washed and groomed and saved the hair for me to see if i could spin it, it reminded me of angora although not as soft and a little longer fiber. then i navajo plied the three singles together to make this 9ply!

It's not a matter of size, but a matter of heart.

OMG! this has to be the coolest yarn BECAUSE it's made with cat hair!
my mom has a long hair and a short hair, and is trying to "adopt" a long hair stray (she wants to let it get used to her so that she can take it to get spayed)
I've been wanting to get some of her cat's hair spun for me (I have yet to learn to spin my own yarn), as I didn't know if it was possible or not.
how cool that you did! I love how soft the hair is that she brushes off of her long hair, Tuna (I call her fish-face) and want to make a short scarf for her out of the cat's hair. I think she'd love it!

is it hard to spin cat's hair?
is it possible to use a drop spindle?

 *you rock!*

Please help me with my "patchwork" station blanket! I would love to get fire department patches! Thanks!

Yeah, when you posted on FF last week I checked out your etsy and saw this. I was impressed! Neither of my furry kids have hair long enough, but February is Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month so *fingers crossed* maybe I can convince my husband? Hey, if he won't give me anymore real kids then he owes me something, right?

Love it!!

I have a long-haired cat, and I've been saving the soft undercoat I've brushed off of him for about a year now.  I'd love to spin it, but don't have very much of it.  I think I'll probably use it to needle-felt a decoration on something else though.  Gotta have a keepsake of my dude -- he's either 19 or 20 now and won't be around much longer.
That's what she said.

I remember when I first learned about spinning I was desperate to get my hands on anything I could ASAP (and was wary about buying a kit for some reason) so I asked one of my teachers to save cat hair for me...never happened and she thought I was totally weird for it LOL. Still would like to try it some day. I've heard it felts REALLY easily, but is also very soft and very warm.

I love all things shiny, glittery, and colorful.
