I received a fantastic box of goodies from BennuBird over the weekend!  In one of our conversations, he asked if I liked pirates...and based on that theme, here's what he came up with.  Gobs of treasures!! Shocked

Clever packaging and the handmade treasure box!

Close up of the pirate a la skelly guarding the treasure box Cheesy

All the lovely bits in the treasure box!

Close up of inchies that BennuBird made!

And good heavens...a mini handmade book that is sooo tiny!  It's smaller than the inchie Cheesy

And the cryptic message led me to believe that there was something I overlooked.  Hmmm.  After a wee bit of prodding, I realised that the treasure box had a false bottom!

And in it was a beautiful handmade clam shell style box!

What a thoughtful box of goodies, no?  BennuBird, thanks so much for swapping with me!  I love everything you sent! Kiss

So that's what digging for treasure meant....  What a neat idea.  Cool box, love the false bottom!

Oh wow, BennuBird! You've moved up to the top of my current "favourite box" list! The clamshell box itself would qualify for that, even if it hadn't been hidden in a secret compartment inside an already very cool pirate chest. (Just writing that made me shake my head in wonder all over again!) And the tiny book is breathtaking. So perfectly bound!

I'm curious though, do the skeleton's eyes light up, by any chance?

Apparently I haven't quite figured out how to post pics (thanks thelastkodama!), but I'll try this again.  Smiley

I received this gorgeous box for Kimchery! Buttons and beads and charms OH MY!  I didn't think I'd ever find the bottom of the box!  lol  I really loved that she sent 2 or more of each thing...for like a matching pair of earrings, etc.  The box itself was so "me".  I love anything "Americana" and she nailed that perfectly!  Smiley

Thanks Kim!  You were a wonderful swap partner!   xoxoxo

I am so happy you liked everything Loves2experiment, because I certainly enjoyed making it for you. The minute I signed up for the swap I started to make the box and after the swap partners were given I "stalked you" and chose the paper, a recycle I have no more access to, only to find I screwed up the interior dimensions so I had to think of a way to fix the volume problem. I turned my head right and saw an ancestors steam trunk, we just brought it into the living room that week, and there was my pirate chest waiting to be filled.

Wulf - Sadly his eyes are just painted, but I was thinking the same thing and wanted to drill them and add some LED's. I was going to hide the battery pack in the chests lid. I was a bit obsessed with the chest project and almost made an entire diorama box for it. LOL time was not on my side for that one.
