I made this for the teapot that my hubby uses at work. He works doing geeky stuff so this Cthulhu should be a big hit and earn him some more geek cred. I made it using 2 different free patterns a Cthulhu one and a tea cozy one. If anyone is interested I'll be happy to share the links. I did change the tea cozy pattern a lot and the Cthulhu pattern only a little to make the wings bigger.

This Rocks! I have geektacular friends who use a teapot, and I've been looking for just the right tea cosy to make them... this is on the shortlist... in fact, right now, this is the shortlist!

Thanks for all the compliments. Smiley

The head does not lift so that the top opens. but that wouldn't have been impossible, I just didn't think of it. I was going for maximum heat retention.

If you're on ravelry here's a link to my ravelry project of the Cthulhu tea cozy with more pics and links to both patterns.

Or here's the link to the patterns:

the Cthulhu pattern. http://cthulhucrochet.blogspot.com/2010/05/cuddly-cthulhu-with-free-pattern.html

Here's a link to the tea cozy pattern which I altered  a lot. I really just made it up as I went along to fit the teapot and use the stripes. Any tea cozy pattern could work as the body.

Before the Cthulhu teacozy there was the purple people eater tea cozy.  He/She needs some wings though.

Here's a link to the Tea Cozy pictured above. I might have used it for Cthulhu if I'd had enough yarn.. http://crochetroo.blogspot.com/2006/05/scallop-tea-cosy-instructions.html
