This is a strange and sorted story...

It all started with the Rutabaga of Death  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=332531.0

My business associate on the west coast is a computer programmer, and from time to time, I ask for upgrades to the system or special programming. And, so it started.. He would start saying "if I'm lying, then I'm a rutabaga." (hence the above post). Once he received the rutabaga, this has become a running joke for us. He would also send me items from vending machines. When he walked past a vending machine that had the 'items in a plastic bubble' for 25 cents, he would always look to see if there is something interesting. One time, he found the pope and all the saints in a bubble and as luck would have it, the pope appeared. Hence, now on my computer, I have the pope set up to 'bless' the computers, as it were.. (geek humor)

Well, last week, I asked for some special programming to be done, and he said that the only way that would get done is if there was another root vegetable sacrifice to the programming gods. So, being the stubborn and crafty person I am, I really want this feature in the program, so I crochet a new root vegetable - a carrot.

The carrot then needed a suitable altar to be sacrificed upon. So, I present the Adam (programmer's name) Altar Root of all Evil.

I bought a small box at Joannes, and stained it with some inks. Then began the crafting process. The front is paper and paper border in Teesha Moore fashion, I drew the "A" and added the root of all Evil.

Then on the inside, it was only fitting that the pope make an appearance. I made some hanging beads. Placed a picture of the pope and a border, again  in Teesha Moore fashion. Added a funny button and printed the word "Root" on it with paint.

On the opposite side, I placed a 'fence' to hold the crochet carrot. The background paper is a picture of all root vegetables. Then added some stickers of a radish and carrot with silly faces.

The back is a paper that has 'hopes - wishes - promises' etc watermarked on the paper. Then I added some beer glasses and bottles (he loves micro or home brew), and again a Teesha Moore style and border.

I hope he doesn't read or belong to craftster, since I just mailed it off to the west coast this morning. It just makes me giggle to send this to him and hopefully I'll get my programming done! LOL.

Questions, comments always welcome! ~ Tammy

That is so much fun!

Power is strength and the ability to see yourself through your own eyes and not through the eyes of another. It is being able to place a circle of power at your own feet and not take power from someone else's circle.
