My son wanted a dragon pillow pet.  I needed a new project, so i decided to make him one  Grin  i couldn't find a dragon pattern (for the head) so i made one up - which i have never done before.  i just started sewing from patterns a few months ago!  he picked out the colors and material (its really soft - i think the same material that 'real' pillow pets are made of).

its not perfect, its a bit goofy looking - but my son loves it!

i think it looks much better than the "real" ones.  it's a lovely dragon and quite impressive size/shape!

creative criticism always appreciated!

We have "real" pillow pets but I think yours is nicer. Way to go! The recipient looks VERY pleased.

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.

Only cool kids get dragon pillow pets! I'm way jealous i'm not cool enough for one.

Your past is just a story. And once you realize this it has no power over you.

I don't think he is goofy looking at all!  Would you mind posting the pattern?  I actually know an adult who would faint away from over exuberance to get this!  (Of course, I would have to make one for myself 1st Smiley)  We both LOVE LOVE LOVE dragons.  She has ancient Chinese markings decals on her side window that read, to those who know how to read it, "Attack Dragon".  How cool is that?

For only starting to use patterns recently, you should be seriously impressed with yourself. I sewed for several YEARS before I attempted to draft my own pattern. You got the scale of all of the parts perfectly! You could sell them.

That dragon is adorable!!  I just finished my own "Cushion Critter" for my daughter.  We made a simple "pooka", or bunny.  Nothing quite as ambitious as you wonderful dragon!  Great Job!
